Reflection:
Every day students are becoming more and more inundated with technology. Most of them no longer know life without technology. When teaching, we must remember that they may think differently than we do and it is up to us to find the best ways to communicate information to them. In most cases now, technology is the link between generations when used correctly. As teachers, we can use technology to put students in charge of their own learning. By developing new tools and challenges for them, students will be engaged and push themselves to learn the material better than just lecturing to them could do anymore. We must use technology to reach each student individually as there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Technology opens the door for us to better reach our students and for them to better learn necessary material, as well as pursue their own specific interests. The artifacts below can be used to help students understand exactly what is expected of them (lesson plan and rubric), as well as provide them ways in which they can explore and share new ideas or topics with each other (Padlet, Thinglink, Scoop.it). Giving students both expectations in what they need to learn as well as freedom of what they can explore and learn gives them more room for growth as an individual.

Future Learning Goals:
In the future, I hope to make my students learning styles a priority when I am teaching. I want to take a step back and understand each of them individually and give them each opportunities to learn in the best way possible for them as an individual. I plan to keep up with and learn new technology that will excite them enough that they look forward to their assignments and learning.
